CONFERENCE DESCRIPTION: Forty years ago, the roots
of psychosocial
rehabilitation were planted and the community touted this innovative
approach. Since then, psychosocial rehabilitation programs have used
community-based resources and support to help people live, learn, and
work in the environment of their choice. Continued emphasis on a
continuum community based support must remain our focus today. BreakOut
7, a biennal conference for consumers and deafness professionals,
provides state-of-the-art psychosocial interventions for deaf,
deaf-blind, and hard of hearing consumers who are recovering from mental
illness. Join us as BreakOut returns to its roots: community
interventions!
