Since computers generally prove to be a very motivating medium in the learning of English, you will probably find that enhanced learning and an improved relationship will reward the initial effort involved in integrating computers into your work with your pupils.

Surfing with English provides support to teachers who want to integrate the Internet into their short- and long - term lesson planning for English language teaching. By using the computer in this way and not as isolated activity it can be exploited to maximum benefit.

SwE was founded by Jane Marshi a computer director, Nisreen Bdah an English teacher and under the auspices of the English inspector agreement, Mrs. Omaima Kildawy.

Goals:

1)     Surfing with English aims to set up an English Teacher-Student network on the Internet which serves both as an English teachers support group (both by teachers and for teachers) and a way by which to ease teachers into the use of the internet in the classroom.

2)     The site provides material based on the new curriculum.

3)     It increases pupil motivation to work at their English and it is our interests as teachers to understand and exploit this as far as possible.

4)     But most important, SwE will constantly develop and reinvent itself as a “virtual Educational Community” where teachers and students discuss pedagogical issues through the Discussion Forum and contribute their ideas and experiences to the SwE website.

We wish you fruitful and successful work.
